Interested in proposing or joining a Critical Physiotherapy focused symposium for World Physiotherapy in 2027?
If so, please express interest by Mar 22nd
World Physiotherapy Congress will be meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico, May 14-16 2027. Their calls for focused symposium are open through Apr 8, 2026.
A focused symposium is “one of the key sessions at Congress”. They often include 3 speakers from different countries, who collectively present their work, and answer audience questions, in an hour. Each focused symposium is an opportunity to highlight critical physiotherapists’ contributions on the global stage.
If you might be interested in co-presenting in a critical physiotherapy symposium, but finances are an issue, please note that focused symposium applicants from LMICs can apply for a bursary to help offset up to £1,500 (~$2000 USD) for their costs of attendance.
Do you have a topic to suggest & need help finding people?
Or might want to join one of the following topics? (these topics are not final but suggestions of what a symposium topic could be on topics we know interest many of you. These can be altered by the interested folks going forward):
Structural violence from a critical physiotherapy perspective
Critical physiotherapies in the Global South
Critical physiotherapies in practice
Please express your interest through this link by end of Mar 22/26: WCPT/CPN expression of interest
Once you do so, we will help connect you with the other interested critical physios on March 23rd & share new proposed topics through the CPN, so you can work together to build and submit your proposal.
