Physiopunk Vol 1
A remarkable collection of new writings on the future for physiotherapy and the environment has just been released
Over the last year, 1st year physiotherapy students from UiT The Arctic University of Norway have been doing something quite extraordinary.
As part of a public health module developed by Filip Maric, Liv Nikolaisen, and Åse Bårdsen, the students have been studying planetary health, and have used speculative fiction to imagine future physiotherapy through an environmental lens.
The best of their essays have been compiled into the 1st volume of Physiopunk and this has been published today in OpenPhysio.
The volume includes an introduction from Maric, Liv Nikolaisen, and Åse Bårdsen; 8 distinct student essays, and 4 responses from around the world. And it is a remarkable body of work.
There are Norwegian and English translations of each article, and the collection is supplemented with beautiful artwork from Heike Jane Zimmermann.
There is a link to the collection here.
Highly recommended.
